What ring sizes do you offer?

I stock all UK ring sizes from A-Z+9. There is no additional charge for particularly small or large sizes, we like to be inclusive at ionalundiedesign.

What are Z+ ring sizes?

‘Z+’ ring sizes are a UK measurement over the A-Z in sizes. These are the 9 additional sizes larger than a size Z.

How do I find out my ring size?

If you are unsure of your ring size, I can offer a ring sizer (measuring all UK sizes) sent to you to measure your own fingers. All ring sizer bands come with full instructions. Purchase this service here.

What if I bought the wrong ring size?

Should you purchase the incorrect size of ring I will happily exchange/resize for you within 28 days of purchase. Customers will cover the postage cost to return the original ring and a postage fee for the new ring to be sent to them. There is no charge other than postage & packaging in exchanging size for Ember Rings. Other rings may have a small fee to resize or replace the shank. Please contact to discuss options.


Earrings

Do you make clip-on earrings?

Yes, many of my earring designs can be converted to a clip-on findings (Sterling Silver). Please contact me for more information on specific pieces and provide the product code where possible. There may be a small charge for the addition of clip-on findings.

Can I have earrings on hooks rather than posts with butterfly backs?

Many of my designs can be converted to hooks or posts depending on personal preference. If there’s a design you would like to discuss having different findings please send a message here, quoting the product code where possible. There may be a small charge for alternative findings.

Are your earring findings suitable for people with allergies?

My jewellery is constructed with solid Sterling Silver findings (earring posts/hooks, chains, pins etc) which would be suitable for most people with allergies.


Chains

What chain lengths do you offer?

I stock 1mm Sterling Silver curb chains in the following lengths; 16inches, 18inches, 20inches, 22inches and 24inches. Listings will ask you to choose a chain length where there is an option to change the chain. If there is no option to choose a length, the design will come on an 18” chain as standard.

Can I have a thicker chain or a different style chain?

Yes, if you would like a different style chain, maybe something thicker or in a different finish please get in touch and I will order a specific chain for you.

How do I choose the correct chain length?

Use a piece of string to measure where you would like the necklace to hang on you. Lay the string out on a ruler/tape measure to measure the string to the closest available chain length. If purchasing as a gift, an 18inch chain is a standard length.


Materials

Are your jewellery findings suitable for people with allergies?

My jewellery has solid Sterling Silver findings (earring posts/hooks, chains, pins etc) which would be suitable for most people with allergies.

Do you make gold jewellery?

While I do not keep a stock of all pieces as gold designs, I am always happy to make gold pieces. Many of the silver designs on the website can be made in gold, please get in touch for a quote. I also make many commissions in gold if you would prefer something bespoke.

Will my jewellery be hallmarked?

All the silver items are hallmarked if they are over the weight of 7.78g. Items under 7.78g do not require hallmarking. In the case of earrings or cufflinks, they are weighed individually; and not as a pair, to determine whether they require hallmarking. Please view the hallmarking dealers notice here.

Can you gold or silver plate a design?

Many of the designs on my website can be gold/silver plated. Please contact me for a quote on specific pieces. Please also allow extra time when ordering items to be plated as I do not plate items in house.


Finishes

What finishes do you offer?

On each listing I give the options available for finish if there is more than one choice for that design. I offer polished, oxidised, brushed oxidised, satin polished.

What is a polished finish?

A polished finish is the more traditional shiny finish of metal jewellery.

What is a satin polished finish?

Satin polished is a lightly brushed bright finish showcasing the natural metal colour but with less of a mirror shine than traditional polishing.

What is an oxidised or brushed oxidised Finish?

Oxidised is a black patina applied over certain metals turning the whole piece dark in colour. Brushed Oxidised is this same black patina but with some of the natural metal colour shining through on textured sections of the design.

Is oxidisation permanent?

I oxidise my work using a chemical process to create a blackened surface on my Sterling Silver or Bronze work. The oxidised surface is sealed with a wax but over time will likely wear back (especially on rings or other high contact items) to reveal more of the natural silver/bronze colour. I offer re-oxidisation of pieces to provide a full black finish again as required. The speed of wear on oxidised jewellery can vary greatly between wearers depending on many factors.

How do I get my jewellery re-oxidised?

If you require your patina to be restored on an ionalundiedesign piece, you can order the service here. There is no charge for the process of re-oxidisation for ionalundiedesign jewellery and objects. The service charge is for the Insured UK Postage & Packaging for the return of your item after reoxidising. The cost of sending the item to be oxidised will be covered directly by the client. Once you purchase the reoxidisation service ionalundiedesign will contact you within 24hrs via the email address provided with the address to send your jewellery/object.


Commissions

Do you take Commissions?

Yes, I happily take on commission work. Often my commission book fills a couple of months in advance so I always recommend contacting early, if you need something for a specific date, to avoid disappointment.

How do I order a commission?

Commissions can be ordered through the Contact tab or you can email me any commission queries at ionalundiedesign@gmail.com

Do you make Wedding Bands or Engagement Rings?

Yes, I’m always pleased to make something extra special for your big day (or the special day before the big day!). I don’t do traditional diamond style designs but if you’re looking for something that bit different, special or unique please send me an email at ionalundiedesign@gmail.com and we can have a no-obligation chat.

How much do Commissions cost?

Commissions vary greatly in cost depending on what you’re requesting. For a full quote please send me information on what you’re looking for and I’ll get back to you with full information.

Do you make new jewellery from ‘old’ gold?

I often do ‘remake’ commissions - taking family jewellery that’s no longer worn, melting it down and making it into something new. If you have gold and you’d like to discuss a ‘remake’, please send me photos of the gold and any design requests you have to ionalundiedesign@gmail.com. If you have the material but you’re not sure of a design yet please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss design ideas.

Do you take commissions for items other than jewellery?

ionalundiedesign loves a challenge! If you have an idea in mind for an object (whether it be practical or decorative) feel free to contact me and we can discuss making anything or everything!


Imagery & Listings

Is the jewellery pictured actual size?

As this website can be viewed on all sizes of screen it is not possible to display images actual size. All sale listings include dimensions, please read these carefully for an accurate scale.

I saw an image last week that’s not listed anymore, can I still buy the piece?

As many designs are one of a kind there may be listings which are removed as pieces are sold. If there is a piece marked as ‘sold out’ it is possible that it’s currently in a gallery/stockist or just temporarily out of stock. Please feel free to contact me for more information on these items (quoting the product code where possible).

How do I choose from the options in the listing?

Listings with options (sizing, finish etc.) will have either a drop down selection of options or a pop-up menu with check boxes. There is also a message box at the checkout where you can add any additional comments you may have regarding your order.

Are the photographs the exact product I will receive?

Many pieces are one of a kind so will be the exact item photographed for the listing. However, several designs are made in multiples but always by hand. For this reason individual pieces may vary slightly in shape, pattern or texture from the image shown. Due to photography and lighting there may also be some differences in colour or appearance from the listing images.


Jewellery Care

How do I care for my jewellery?

To care for your silver or bronze jewellery clean gently with a polishing cloth or wash lightly in warm soapy water. For severely tarnished pieces use small amounts of silvo or brasso with a soft cloth. Oxidised jewellery is treated with a wax coat, however, over time the finish may wear to reveal more of the natural metal.  If you ever wish to have your piece re-oxidised please get in touch.  Spiral jewellery should not need polished. If tarnishing occurs a silver dip may be used.

How do I store my jewellery?

It is always recommended to store your jewellery in the original ionalundiedesign box. The felt padding in the box provided is anti-tarnish and the sturdy box should preserve the shape of and finish on the jewellery.


Packaging

Does your jewellery come in a box?

All of my designs come beautifully boxed in ionalundiedesign branded luxury jewellery boxes. All boxes are matte black with a white foil logo. Box sizes vary depending on the piece. All boxes are suitable for gifting and have anti-tarnish inserts to allow you to safely store your jewellery in them long term.

Is your packaging eco-friendly?

I am always conscious to keep making my small business more eco-friendly. I use FSC-certified cardboard boxes, stamped with an eco-friendly logo. All of my paper packaging (envelopes/business cards/care cards) are recyclable. Any bubblewrap in my packaging is reused and never purchased new, I would encourage you to reuse any from your order again!

Does your packaging have your logo on the outside?

My envelopes are all stamped with ionalundiedesign imagery and sealed with a logo sticker. If you wish your order to arrive in completely plain packaging so as not to spoil a gift, please indicate this at the checkout.


Gift Options

Do you offer Gift Vouchers?

I offer paper gift vouchers which can be posted directly to a recipient or forwarded through yourself. Gift vouchers can be used on any listing on the website or used towards a commission or workshop. Please get in touch if you wish to use your gift card for a bespoke piece.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Yes. If you would like your order gift wrapped please indicate this at the checkout. Wrapping will generally be recyclable plain brown paper tied neatly with a twine bow. A handwritten gift tag will be added for any requested messages to the recipient.

Can I ship my gift directly to a loved one?

Yes. To ship directly to someone else just enter their address in the ‘delivery address’ portion at the checkout and complete the checkout form with any requests for gift wrapping or messages which you would like included in the package. I never include invoices/receipts in orders and any prices will be removed from boxes prior to shipping.

Can I add a gift message to my order?

There is an option to add a gift message to your order at the checkout. If your order is being gift wrapped the message will be handwritten on a gift tag. If your order is not being gift wrapped the message will be handwritten in ink on a white card to be included in the envelope.


Payment & Discount Codes

What payment methods do you accept?

Orders placed through www.ionalundiedesign.com can be paid using Paypal or via card payment. The ionalundiedesign website uses the card payment platform Stripe.

Why won’t my discount code work?

Some discount codes or promotions have expiry dates so please check that the offer is still valid. Multiple discount codes cannot be applied to the same order. Sale items may not be included in discounts or promotions. Discount codes may be case sensitive, check for capital letters or special characters.

Where will my refund go?

In the case of a refund, ionalundiedesign will only refund to the payment method previously used to purchase through the website. Refunds cannot be redirected to another card/account/cash. Refunds will be processed in a timely manner. Once the refund is processed by ionalundiedesign the time taken to return to account is dependant on the timescales of the payment platform used.


Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship to?

ionalundiedesign ships worldwide. Please select the appropriate shipping destination at the checkout. Shipping charges vary on destination. Please be aware that all destinations outside the UK may be subject to additional custom charges. Please check your country’s import duty prior to ordering. If your desired delivery destination is not showing as available please contact me.

What is the difference in the UK shipping options?

UK shipping offers two options giving a choice in price and speed of delivery. All parcels are shipped through Royal Mail. Royal Mail Special Delivery is slightly more expensive but offers insured next day delivery. You should expect your order within 1-2 days of your dispatched notification email. Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For is a lower price but slower delivery time and items will not be insured. Expect your order within approximately 4-5 days of your dispatched notification email.

Has my order been dispatched?

You will receive an order fulfilment email once your order has been dispatched. With Covid-19, I am currently only shipping once a week (usually Wednesdays). If you have not received an order fulfilled email after 7 days of placing the order please get in touch for an update.

When will my order be delivered?

Once you receive an ‘Order Fulfilled’ email, your order has been shipped. Delivery times vary depending on your chosen shipping option. All items are sent via Royal Mail.

These are the Royal Mail delivery aims:

  • UK - Special Delivery - 1 working day

  • UK - 2nd Class Signed For - 2-3 working days

  • Europe - International - 3-5 working days

  • Worldwide - International - 6-7 working days

If you have not received your order after 28 days of dispatch you may be eligible for a refund or replacement.

My order hasn’t arrived, can I request a replacement?

Very rarely items do go missing in shipping. At certain times of year we may experience some severe delays, please allow extra time for your order to arrive. If after 28 days from your ‘Order Fulfilled’ email you have not received your jewellery please get in touch. For any orders which have not arrived, ionalundiedesign will confirm your delivery address and check Royal Mail tracking where possible prior to processing refunds or replacements. Can I get a receipt?

I never include paper receipts in parcels, all receipts will be sent directly to the email address provided when you place the order. These receipts are generated automatically.


Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

Can I return earrings?

For hygiene reasons earrings cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty.

Can I exchange my jewellery for a different piece?

If you received a piece of ionalundiedesign jewellery as a gift and it’s not what you’d have chosen yourself I am happy to offer an exchange for an alternative piece of the same value within 28 days of the order despatch date. Please quote the order reference or name of purchaser when requesting the exchange.

Do you offer warranty?

ionalundiedesign jewellery and objects come with a one year warranty where items will be replaced if faulty (with the exception of normal wear and tear or accidental damage). If you require a repair to any ionalundiedesign pieces, whether in warranty or not, please email me with images of the piece at ionalundiedesign@gmail.com.
